The Law on Forests Bill can become the latest gift from the state to two businessmen
Sofia, 3 November 2010 – The state can make another gift in a row to at least two businessmen, the coalition “For the Nature” warns. In the afternoon, the Parliamentary commission on agriculture will examine on first reading the bill on forests prepared by the government. Some of the texts provide new opportunities for certain businessmen to derive benefits from the changes.
The Borisov Government legalizes the land swaps and privatization of state forests and protected territories
Sofia, 28 September 2010 – The Coalition “For the Nature” expresses its negative position on the project for a new Law of forests, which will be introduced in the Council of Ministers on 29 September. The Coalition has taken part in the process of preparing the bill and several times has sent its positions to the Ministry of agriculture and foods and the Executive Forest Agency. Unfortunately, these positions on a number of key questions about the future of forests had not been reflected in the bill text without a justification for this neglect.
The Coalition “For the Nature” is categorically against the inclusion in the new Law of forests of those texts for whose rejection there is already public and political consensus.
The government caved in to the lobbying of an offshore oligarch. The building up of National Park Pirin continues!
Two decisions of the Ministry of Environment and Waters (MEW) breach an international convention and place the National Park on the list of World Heritage in Danger
Unique forests of white firs and centuries-old dwarf pines will be cut down in order to build two new lifts in National Park Pirin. Two decisions of the MEW permit the construction of the two new lifts without carrying out environmental impact assessments and assessments for compatibility with NATURA 2000. According to the concessionaire’s plans deposited at the MEW, the bottom and upper stations of one of the new lifts will be built outside of the concession territory.

Both Norwegian study trips on Strandja Project have finished
Is there something to learn from a country with a so high life-standard and to implement it in practice in our beautiful but slightly disordered state? This question asked themselves most often the participants in both 7-days study trips to Norway, organized by the Bulgarian Biodiversity Foundation.
Yes, there is, because the love in nature is not related with the standard of living and does not depend on how much money you get. However, depends on that, in what you educate the people of all ages and how you encourage them to keep active and to have healthier life.
