HPP and mHPP are an alternative source of energy (gained from water) but the numerous buildings at rivers and streams with inconstant high water may lead to their complete or periodical drying up. It may also lead to imbalance of the ecological equilibrium in the whole area. For the local people this means water resources deficit and decreasing the possibilities for tourism’ development. For the nature, this means extinction of animals and vegetable species inhabiting rivers, as well as durable destruction of river habitats. As Wind Power Plant (WPP), HPP are profitable and fast recoverable investment, because of the engagement of the country to produce and buy energy gained from renewable sources of energy. However, there is lack of clear rules, normative criteria and standards considering hydro energy engineering.
