Why the lift to the Seven Rila lakes is something bad, since so many people are able to go up and see the lakes? Otherwise they would not have this opportunity, especially the disabled people and others?

The lift is illegal since it is entering into the National Rila Park where a man cannot even pitch a tent much less to cast a concrete. Moreover a mass of licenses are missing and the lift lower station is even situated on a dangerous landslide.

A special permit could be taken out from the Park’s administration so the people with disabilities, the elderly, and those that have difficulties moving, to be given a lift by a jeep. There are not many people like those, so they will not harm the mountain. If everyone can go up to the Lakes the easiest way – without walking, this would lead to too many people in the area who will throw their waste and beer bottles anywhere they want. The capacity of the lift is 6 000 people per day – quantity that is enough to completely destroy the ecosystem of the area which is already fragile. Even so, the areа around the Seven Rila lakes is an area for restraint of human impact according to the Management Plan of National Park Rila. This territory has great biodiversity and landscape value, as well as unique mineralogical complex. Because of this reason a management of the tourist stream of people is imperative.
