Some of the most beautiful and precious parts of Bulgaria have become a subject of gradual and irreversible destruction in the last couple of years.
When the plundering of our natural treasures happens every day right before the responsible institutions" eyes, we are faced with the challenge to stop the abuse. This can only happen with the active help and involvement of everyone. Everyone can help according to their wish, free time, and skills.
We hope you will contact us not only to take part in a particular action, but also to help with our current issues. You just need a bit of courage to call us or write at:
contact(at)forthenature.org
Our nature relies on each and everyone of us to take their personal responsibility for its preservation.
For better organisation and coordination we have created 12 working groups of volunteers, ready to take ACTIVE part in the campaign.
Those who are already part of a working group will receive e-mails for group meetings. Those of you, who could not participate and join a group – now is the time to do so.
WORKING GROUPS:
1. Website
*designers;
*searching, editing, and uploading information;
*forum moderators.
2. Coordinator assistants – volunteers to help the coordinators of For the Nature campaign and to coordinate the different working groups.
3. Information and presentations
*spreading information among relatives, in forums, on websites, etc. – ALL you can think of;
*presentations about Natura 2000 and the dangers for nature at the universities;
*spreading of information materials before particular campaigns.
4. Translations – of information on the website, expert opinions and signals to the European institutions, foreign press articles...
5. Contact group – cheerful, motivated people, willing to contact firms, media, and institutions to get support for the campaign.
6. Photos – to make an on-line gallery of the protected and the deferred areas and to use them for different campaigns in Bulgaria and abroad.
7. Advertisement and anti-advertisement – we need English speaking people to read regularly websites and forums connected with building companies. A great part of the foreign companies investing in Bulgaria, as well as the people who buy villas and houses before they are built, actually do not know that the construction works destroy unique natural treasures and are illegal. The aim is to make comments in the forums and write to the firms, giving a view of the real situation in Bulgaria.
8. Creative group – people with crazy ideas and visual perception – for the designing of posters, and the creating of slogans and announcements to broadcast on TV and the radio.
9. "Tech freaks" - assistants to the creative and other groups, people who can make the ideas real.
10. Signals to the institutions - preparing standard documents for acquiring (extra) information, warnings to the institutions, etc, and (organising) their weekly filing.
11. Lawyers
Extra groups, formed as a result of discussions with you, which have to be developed in the future:
*Traveling group - monitoring the condition of endangered areas
*Good practices and work with local authorities and people.
