The world gathers together – so do we! Prayer Vigil for the Earth, 12 December 2009, Sofia
Between 7 and 18 December leaders from 192 countries will meet in Copenhagen, one of the “greenest” cities in the world, in order to participate in the UN Climate Change Conference. This is the most important similar meeting in the last decade and probably our last chance to achieve an effective and responsible plan for reducing the disastrous carbon emissions.
The world is preparing for the meeting in Copenhagen – so does Bulgaria! Come on 12 December (Saturday) at 5:30 p.m. to the Lovers’ Bridge, candle in hand, so that we can show we are concerned about our planet. All needed for the Prayer Vigil for the Earth to be successful is … a few people J. It will be funny, easy and will cost nothing at all (except for a candle and about an hour time).

Tree Planting around Konush Dam
Volunteers of Green Balkans and National Organization of Bulgarian Scouts carried out a joint action for the planting of more than 100 poplars and willows close to the greatest heron colony in the interior – near the village of Konush, Assenovgrad.

The demonstration is organized by the informal group “Citizens for Rila” and the Coalition of nature protection NGOs “Let Nature Remain in Bulgaria”.
